2D AND 3D PRINTING LABORATORY

The 2D and 3D digital printing lab occupies a vast 1500 square feet space.

The prints are done by our qualified technician on a Canon Pro-4000 printer using LUCIA PRO pigment inks, as well as an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks.

It is possible to print images on various flexible media up to 44 inches wide. Printing rates are calculated on a per square foot basis and vary depending on the type of media. Rates include pre-print adjustments and test strip printing. Any retouching or image optimization work outside of these pre-print color adjustments will be charged at the current technical support rate.
The desired file formats for digital printing are RAW, PSD, TIFF at 300 dpi minimum in the RGB space (sRGB, Adobe98 or Prophoto RGB) to be able to make optimal prints (the JPEG format is to be avoided for reasons of file compression that can cause a destructive degradation of your image).

Our monitors are regularly calibrated for an exact color match with our printers.

The laboratory is also equipped with a 3D printer, a Creality Ender 3. The file format for 3D printing is STL (Stereo Lithography) which does not include information about color, texture or other usual parameters of a 3D model but only the surface geometry of a 3D object.
It is essential to schedule a preliminary meeting to discuss your printing project in order to estimate the production cost and the feasibility of your printing on our machines. Printing time can vary from 10am to 6pm depending on the size and complexity of your model. The size of the STL files being particularly small, they can be transferred by email or by a free transfer platform such as www.wetransfer.com without any problem.

The prints are always done by the Sporobole technician.

Contrary to what one thinks at first sight, 3D printing requires a lot of preparation work in your model, in particular the hollowing out of the too massive parts in order to reduce the quantity of resin necessary for the printing, as well as the addition of certain interior supports to solidify other parts. If you are not familiar with modeling practices, Sporobole technicians can perform these optimization steps which will be charged at the current technical support rate.
