MUSICAL AND SOUND CREATION WITH FONOFONE

formation

Sound creation

The sense of hearing is often perceived as the poor relative of the five senses, and yet it is an integral part of our daily lives. It allows us to capture a multitude of natural or manufactured sound worlds, which despite their apparent immateriality, are indeed tangible and captivating.

The various spheres of sound creation are numerous and are declined in many ways. Sound spatialisation, sound effects, electroacoustic music, Hörspiel and musique concrète are just a few examples. For our workshops, we decided to focus on Foley Art, a discreet but essential phase in the fabrication of a film.

By participating in these fun workshops, students will have the opportunity to discover what it means to be a sound engineer while developing their own listening skills. They will participate in projects that encourage collaboration and their auditory perception will be forever transformed!

All our workshops are flexible and adaptable to your needs. Don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss and establish a plan that suits you!

The Workshop

Fonofone

COSIMU’s mission is to introduce children to musical creation through the MAKING of music in order to develop their creativity, through creation workshops and the production of concerts where children are paired with professional composers and performers. To this end, the organization has created the Fonofone application for iPad and the web, which allows users to explore the world of sounds in an intuitive and playful way, to collectively create and perform original musical creations. The Fonofone approach responds to the three main axes of the music program: create/invent, interpret, appreciate. COSIMU is directed by composer and educator Yves Daoust. COSIMU’s artist-mediators are all professionals in the field of creation and have received appropriate training to work with young people.
